On June 25th, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Bahamas Youth Summer Camp was held at UJN.

Centered around the theme "Green and Low-Carbon Development," the ceremony featured addresses by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Huang Jiadong and Director of the American and Oceanian Affairs Division of Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People’s Government Li Yanfeng, who extended a warm welcome to the Bahamian youth delegation.They expressed their hope that the young visitors would "build bridges with culture, connect through green initiatives, and strengthen bonds with friendship," using the summer camp as an opportunity to enhance mutual understanding and sow the seeds for future China-Bahamas youth cooperation. Student representative Kaimry conveyed her gratitude in a speech, pledging to cherish this opportunity to learn and explore, and to share her experiences and insights upon returning to the Bahamas, thereby strengthening exchange and understanding between the youth of both nations.

The ceremony culminated in a vibrant lion dance performance that energized the atmosphere, with guests formally inaugurating the summer camp through the traditional dotting of the lion's eyes. Following the ceremony, the delegation visited the Caribbean Research Center.
