On November 13-14, University of Jinan successfully underwent the on-site review for the Reaccreditation of Higher Education Quality for International Students in China, conducted by an expert panel organized by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE).

The comprehensive evaluation involved high-level meetings, in-depth interviews, class observations, and facility inspections. University leaders, including former Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President Liu Zongming; Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee Zhang Qingguo; Standing Committee Member of the CPC Committee and Vice President Li Qiang; and Standing Committee Member of the CPC Committee and Head of the Publicity Department Lu Wang and other senior officials, engaged with the panel throughout the process.

Key Proceedings of the On-Site Review

At the entry briefing, Ms. Zhou Yan, former Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE, outlined the significance of the quality certification, emphasizing its role as a key national metric for assessing the effectiveness of international student education. She expressed hope that the university would leverage this process to enhance its unique disciplinary strengths into a core competitiveness for international education.

Professor Zhang Xiaotao, head of the expert panel, detailed the review's rigorous methodology. He assured that the panel would adhere to principles of objectivity, impartiality, and professionalism to ensure a credible outcome.

In response, former President Liu Zongming extended a warm welcome to the experts. He stressed that the reaccreditation would serve as a catalyst for improvement, aiming to elevate its internationalization to a higher level. Vice President Huang Jiadong presented a comprehensive report on the university's international student education to the panel.

During the two-day review, the expert panel conducted a multi-faceted assessment. This included extensive interviews with university leadership, heads of administrative departments and schools, faculty representatives, and international students themselves. The experts also observed classrooms, inspected accommodation facilities, and meticulously reviewed relevant documentation to gain a holistic understanding of the university's management and cultivation of international talent.

Constructive Feedback and University Commitment

At the concluding feedback session, Professor Zhang Xiaotao delivered the panel's preliminary findings. The experts fully acknowledged the university's substantial commitment and achievements in international student education. Concurrently, they provided targeted recommendations for further enhancement, particularly in optimizing student recruitment sources and refining the curriculum system.

In his concluding remarks, former President Liu Zongming conveyed his appreciation to the expert panel for its thorough evaluation and precise guidance. He pledged that the university would adopt a higher strategic perspective, implement practical measures for improvement, and continuously enrich the substance of its international student programs, thereby solidifying the unique value of the "Study at UJN" brand.
