On the afternoon of May 23, Lawrence Hayward, Governor of Isabel Province in Solomon Islands, and his delegation visited the University of Jinan. Vice President Huang Jiadong met with Governor Hayward and his accompanying delegates. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Provincial People's Government, as well as officials from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the College of International Education and Exchange of the University of Jinan.
Vice President Huang Jiadong extended a warm welcome to Governor Hayward and his delegation, providing a brief introduction to the University of Jinan's educational initiatives and development. He emphasized that Shandong Province and Isabel Province share a sister province relationship and expressed hope that the Governor's visit would deepen mutual understanding and promote cooperation between the University of Jinan and higher education institutions as well as research organizations in Solomon Islands.
Governor Lawrence Hayward expressed his appreciation for the warm reception from Shandong Province and the University of Jinan. He noted that, as a representative from a developing country in the South Pacific, he deeply admires the achievements made by China, Shandong Province, and the University of Jinan. Since the signing of the sister province agreement, exchanges and cooperation between the two provinces have grown increasingly close. He expressed hope that this visit would further facilitate the sharing of advanced experiences, enhance people-to-people exchanges, and jointly promote the friendly cooperation between the two provinces.
